This is the first book I haven't been able to put down in over a year. Super engaging and fun to read!
Cliche and unoriginal. Gave up one-third of the way in.
Cannot understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews here and on Amazon for this book and the next parts in the series. Obvious and mostly boring as all hell with one mildly (MILDLY) likable character. No way I'm going to read 3 more of these.

This book was so frustrating. The end was interestin until letter was added and when I tried to continue the series I just couldn't do it.
I enjoyed this book. I had just finished reading the handmaids tale right before starting this so that division of male and female and each genders limited rights under the rule of the other was just as frustrating and troubling as in the handmaids tale. I was worried that I wouldn't get tired of this theme quickly after just reading the other book but the budding romance in the Gender Game washed away that fear and brought me make to the entertaining world of reading. This book was a tiny bit slow at times to get to something other than just how to carry out their mission but still enjoyable. ****SPOILER*****I was surprised at the end, I was expecting some kind of double cross somewhere by Lee most likely, but I wasn't expecting the murders or the aircraft. However, I was a bit sad that I didn't get a nice ending out of the book. I hadn't realized it was a series, and I'm a bit more sad to learn that there are so many books in the series. I don't want to have to read 20 books to finally get an ending.
I read it based on a friend's recommendation, but I didn't like it all too much. Not sure if I'm going to read the next book of the series.

I really enjoyed how much thought was put into the two lands, but also how they were seen through the different characters eyes. I think it showed a great representation of gender expectations taken to the extreme, where each gender thinks themselves better and crafts a entire society around it.
