One of my favorite aspects of this novel was the accuracy of the main character’s description of icu work flow and emotions of an icu nurse. It made her super relatable to me personally. The first 200 pages seemed to drag on a bit and I was disappointed that this didn’t have more plot twists initially. HOWEVER, the big twist in the last 1/3 of this book made it worth the wait. Things are not how they initially seem. I would highly recommend, especially to my ICU homies! :)
Super quick read. I finished it in 24 hours. I was hooked pretty quickly.

Is very difficult to explain why I rated the book 4stars. The book is so full of twists and turns that at the end you forget that you are not breathing. But while the story is developing, you can get very confused, specially when when closed to the end another villain is introduced.

I wouldn’t call it a plot twist, I would call it a plot cluster-f. The first 40% of the book is absolutely nothing and then all of a sudden everything starts happening at once. As always, Mary Kubica keeps you on your toes and makes you unable to put the book down. If you can push through, it gets wild.

I was really into it in the beginning but then I accurately predicted the twist a hundred pages in and the second half of the book kind of unravelled for me. There was too much happening in a bad way and weird unclear timeline switches and spelling mistakes.
