The audiobook version was just perfect for me. I listened to it while doing some work - physical, and really enjoyed the experience. This really felt like a right book right time moment.
I loved the beginning and the end, the middle was good but not as captivating.
In the beginning I thought of the band A Tribe Called Red, and sure enough they are also mentioned in the book soon after.
I also didn’t know anything about the book beforehand which is good. This was a new category for me.

This book was an interesting look at "urban Indians" (Native americans that live in cities - in this book, Oakland - instead of on reservations) and how they keep tradition alive while still staying up on current technology and trends - the combination of the two worlds was fascinating. The jumping between characters was a bit confusing at first, but as their stores became more interconnected, it was easier to follow each of their individual stories.
