I've been picking up and stopping a lot of books lately, but this one I couldn't put down. Definitely perfect for a long weekend if you're looking for a read that will keep you guessing the whole time.

We have dual timelines with alternating perspectives taking us to the past, present, and after life. I really appreciated how unpredictable this venture was.

I did question whether Amanda's (after) could be considered (now) since it was happening in real time along with Pippa's.

TW: Suicide, suicidal ideation, mental illness, mental illness misdiagnosis, postpartum depression

Pippa and her husband Gabe have recently moved from the city to start a quieter life with their two daughters. Within their first year they've realized that making this move has ultimately saved the lives of several people within their community as they live near a cliff that people often jump from. They keep an eye on the cliff, and when they notice someone alone near the edge, they contact the police and begin support tactics to encourage the individual to stay in place and get help.

This process has worked every time, until one night a woman falls to her death. Pippa is trying to make heads of what she saw, because Gabe's stance and the woman's identity tell a different story than the one reported to the police.

So many good reviews and here I am... thinking why I did not enjoy is as much as everyone else.

I guess it was the Ending and Reveal for me that felt like.. huh, ok, that’s it?

Or domestic suspense isn't just one of my go-to genre.

This was top notch! I'm a huge fan of books that go from past to present, and this book does it so well imo. The book is told in alternating narratives between Pippa & Amanda. Pippa's story is told with 'Then' & 'Now', while Amanda's story is told with 'Before' & 'After'. I know some people struggle with books that are written like this, so it might not be the book for them. But I couldn't get enough. I thought this was perfect, and I was sucked in to the story straight away.

I found myself dying to find out what was going to be revealed next, as the book twists and turns in ways you wouldn't expect. The characters were so well written that I became so invested in their lives, and needed to keep listening. I really enjoyed this and will be recommending it to everyone!

SH is an author I usually enjoy. This story didn’t do it totally for me. I did love the accuracy in the depiction of bipolar disorder.

Sally Hepworth is quickly becoming a favorite domestic thriller author for me. I've enjoyed each of her books so far. There is always an element that surprises me, and I just have so much fun reading her books! Will definitely keep checking out her backlist.
