Just a cute romance with trans leads to make my heart sing. I love hearing how they found each other and team up. It’s very closed door but given the subject and the intended audience that makes sense. It’s still super cute and a good read.

oh… this book was TOO damn good!!!!! i picked this book up yesterday evening - fast forward to the next day, also evening, & i’ve finished it! the connection b/w the leads (luna/clair & jean-pierre/JP) had me on the edge of my SEAT‼️

this was my first LGBTQ+ book & while it was difficult to read @ first (bc i’m not familiar w/ what trans ppl go through when they transition, how they are treated, or what they experience), i still enjoyed the book! it was interesting to see the different perspectives of how luna & jean-pierre navigate through the world, post-transition, as it affected how they’d treat each other. they talked through any confusion or arguments that arose tho, & that’s all that matters!

i LOVED how attentive jean-pierre was to luna (same w/ luna to jean-pierre) but o my GAWD i wasn’t expecting for there to be any sexy fun time but when there was… i was HOOKED!!!!!! i’ve had my fair share of reading such things but it’s been a while since anything has lit a fire in my stomach (or ig gave me butterflies) but THIS BOOK DID!!!!!!

This was so cute! I loved the T4T romance 😍 JP and Luna were adorable. The fake dating meet cute was hilarious and I enjoyed the cooking that was mixed in with the storyline.

While I liked the beginning and ends of the book, the middle felt really slow. Initially I wasn’t as keen on JP and Luna’s relationship. It seemed like they kept fighting then apologizing and then their relationship advanced.

A few times JP was annoying as a character too. But he slowly got better.  Obviously no character is perfect but these two seemed to become better people throughout the story.  Would have liked to see more from JP’s grandmother since she’s hyped up a few times in the story. And less screen time from his trans hating family. But I understand that this is an accurate portrayal of family. Overall really cute. Would recommend to folks who want a T4T romance with cooking fun and some diverse enby characters

A lot of the tension was taken out, my favorite part of the fake dating troupe :(

For what it offers, such as the fake dating trope and forced proximity, Chef's Choice is a quick and enjoyable read, but it did not feel fleshed out enough. Luna & Jean-Pierre romance is heartwarming, they keep growing together but in their own individual ways.
In conclusion, touches some important topics and conversations. Even though, it drags in pacing, I thought it was a good read, though!
