I love Ambessa and Mel and I love getting any and all Runeterra lore, but sometimes the political plotting/conflicts got a little boring for my tastes. I still think C. L. Clark did a great job and Ellen Thomas narrating was incredible as ever. I can only take so much greed and as we all know, Ambessa is never in short supply. I think if anyone just generally wants more after Arcane/League plot you'll probably enjoy it. Especially if Noxus is your thing. Also Rell 🏳️‍🌈✨

This was good! I LOVE Arcane and Ambessa was a character I loved to hate and hated to love. I was so excited this story about her backstory was coming out.

It wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but I understand why. Ambessa in the book showed more emotion and ended with showing why Ambessa is basically emotionless when we meet her in the show. There is a lot of insight into Mel's character as well which I loved because Mel is on of my favorite characters. This book felt like it was more political movements then the action and grittiness I was expecting, but I enjoyed myself.

I would definitely recommend this to Arcane fans.

4 stars!!— i am always itching for more arcane content and honestly this explained some things that happened in season 2 that i was still confused about it. i also loved the little snippets of mel’s life, especially the introduction of her friendship with elora. i also fell IN LOVE with rell and want to know more of her story. fun read:)

As a massive fan of the Arcane show, when I heard about this book I was beyond excited, I HAD to preorder it.

The way that it incorporated moments from the book was really interesting, Clark does a great job of weaving it in time with the show. When reading it I honestly felt like I was watching the show.

I loved seeing so much more of Ambessa and how she’s much more complex than you think. At times you almost feel sorry for her and support her but then at other times you despise her.

I also really liked seeing more of Mel when she is younger and the events leading up to her exile to Piltover. As well, a bit more about Kino, Rictus, and a new, very interesting character: Rell.

Noxus is such an interesting place to read about and the Black Rose which was shown briefly in Arcane.

This book makes me even more excited for a show centred around Noxus. If you enjoyed the Arcane show a lot, this book will definitely be for you!
