It was definitely fun exploring this world a bit more! Ambessa is a tough character to root for, but she is entertaining! And the audiobook was excellent. Some of the pacing threw me off and I really would’ve enjoyed following Mel more. I enjoyed it tho. Id likely check out more in this world

This book was a lot better than I was expecting it to be.

Ambessa was an interesting enough character, but where it really shined were the characters around her.

nothing too too groundbreaking but cl clark really manages to color in the league of legends lore here and make the world feel very lived in, along with a fun power grab/political clash plotline that is propelled along by a thoughtful rendering of a very memorable character. also as someone who's watched the show but knows nothing about in game lore, i appreciated the glances we got into history and backstory for ambessa and mel! it enriches my memories of the show in a way that i enjoyed.
