I wasn’t too sure about this in the beginning. The writing style grew on me and I grew to love it by the end of the book. The emotions portrayed left me with a pit in my stomach. It’s a short read but I a very impactful one.

a beautiful, heart-wrenching, and powerful story about family, love, loyalty, camaraderie, and friendship. though set in the heart of winter in maine, this book will warm your heart and rip it to pieces simultaneously. joseph brook and his story will definitely stick with you long after finishing this short, but impactful and beautiful read. would highly recommend!

This book was so depressing. I know the audience is a younger one, but I felt this story was very surface level and sad.

This book... I can't express how much it destroyed me. It is so sad but at the same time beautiful. It's a simple and easy read but emotionally hard. I wish I could express all my feelings right now but I'll summarize what I think: Joseph deserved so much more.
