Annoyed at how good Plath is, like outright jealous.

I want to like her poetry - really I do - but every attempt I just feel no connection to the words. I guess that is poetry sometimes it speaks to you and sometimes not.

As mystical as modern poetry gets.

Plath's language is beautiful and her alliteration and repetition are beyond comparison. The overall theme of this collection is the element of water within the season of summer. My personal favorite poems were "A Winter Ship," "The Disquieting Muses," "The Times Are Tidy," "The Burnt-out Spa," and "The Stones."
