i loved this book sm, the characters mean everything to me
This was my first Murakami book and I think I picked a weird one. I read it in a day and it was a good read just didn't really connect with it.

I read this book because of a "readalong" project that was hosted by a few bookstagrammers on Instagram. I had zero idea what this book is about to be quite honest. I didn't know that the main character Sumire was inlove with a woman named Miu who is 17 years older than her. I didn't know that Miu had a terrible past that she lost herself. I didn't know that the narrator himself was inlove with Sumire. I didn't know that Sumire disappears halfway through the story and loses herself as she spends more time with Miu. But there's one thing I know for sure. It's that Murakami always hits that spot and makes me feel strong emotions through his writing. I'm heartbroken.

Lo stile di scrittura è la cosa più vicina alla perfezione che abbia mai visto, la lettura scorre facilmente. In alcuni punti si distacca un po' dalla realtà, cosa che non mi fa impazzire ma è proprio lo stile di Murakami. Tratta temi come la solitudine, la perdita, l’amore non corrisposto. Sicuramente non l’ho apprezzato e capito come sarebbe giusto per le varie scene oniriche.

narratior is very relatable in telling this story - everyone is impossibly doomed from the start
What can I say? I loved this book. I found it deeply enjoyable to experience this story of an impossible love triangle and bizarre mystery. The reality in this book feels dreamlike and the delusions of this book feel real the way nightmares do. Reading this book was like unwrapping a long-anticipated present wrapped with extreme care.
