This is a really accessible book about how bees evolved, communicate, sense things, understand things, and generally exist in the world. I'll be adding this to the collection at my work.

Tendemos a visualizar a los insectos, incluidas a las abejas, como meros autómatas, seres que apenas responden a los estímulos del entorno. Chittka, quien se ha dedicado a estudiar a estos himeneptéros, dedica este ensayo a demostrar que esa concepción es falaz y que incluso las abejas de manera individual poseen un grado de consciencia y conocimiento de su entorno (sabido es que tienen un lenguaje referiencial, a su descubridor le mereció un premio nobel). Además de la multiplicidad de datos se agradece el estilo amigable con el que está escrito el libro, que permite acercarse a la obra y escuchar, casi, el revoloteo de las abejas sobre las flores.
