This is an ingenious idea and so well executed. I really enjoy Everett's writing style, fast and smart, meat without getting bogged down. James is an amazing narrator of his story. I wish I had re-familiarized myself with Huck Finn's plot line before reading it, just to see how much it followed. Recommended for both an engaging, page-turning read, and a thought-provoking portrait of our American history.
