This right here is some pretty awesome hard SF. Well, I guess it's "hard SF" in that all of the sciencey bits make sense, but not necessarily that they drive the story. And it's really the story that makes this awesome. Despite the multiple plot threads that seem disparate at the beginning of the story, it's a very compelling pageturner of a book. Good stuff.
A fine sequel to Singularity Sky. I was glad to have a new character to get to know, even though she was a supposed teenager with over-the-top levels of sexual sophistication and other unbelievables, like her transformer jacket. At any rate, space opera with multiple plot threads, kept my mind off the current U.S. executive branch disaster.

Wednesday ran through the darkened corridors of the station, her heart pounding. Behind her, unseen yet sensed as a constant menacing presence, ran her relentless pursuer - a dog. The killhound wasn't supposed to be here: neither was she.
Excellent book! I particularly enjoyed the first chapter. Good whodunnit, good hard SF. I've enjoyed all the Charles Stross books I've read.

An excellent suspense novel set in future space. Stross does a great job of building the suspense as the book moves along. I am a touch disappointed with the denoument--I like to have all the knots tied up at the end of a book.
Charles Stross is a new hard science fiction addiction. He has a great taste for information technology and weaves it more thoroughly into his space opera-ish, insanely fast paced futures. This is his second novel featuring Rachel Mansour, travelling arms control diplomat and all around black ops spy.

Builds really well on the first book in the series. Also, a great intriguing plot that keeps twisting right until the end. Also nice to have the central characters from the first book back!
