Well this wasn't all that bad. I mean I have a really high bar for romantic suspense and it wasn't as bad as some other books by Maya Banks lead me to believe *kept.khm.khm*
Anyway I don't have a problem with reading about rape if it isn't there to just make the hero/heroine look like a sainted martyr. Not here, thankfully.
Half of this book leans heavily on the fact the heroine has been kidnapped (also I remember her name. it's Rachel. Where is my gold star?) and while
she wasn't raped sometimes it feels like she was. She however was forcefully hooked on drugs and not one doctor is concerned about her addiction enough to take it into the consideration when they, on multiple occasions give her 'the good' painkillers. It really does suck to have close relationship with medical professionals. Also side notes, apples do not keep them away. Except for my future *imaginary and non existent* doctor husband.  They are doing a fabulous job of keeping him away...<spoiler/>
Anyhow, it was good enough read to continue with the series...
