Yes the main character seems annoying at times. The submissive female character can get old very quick, but overall a cute novel. Quite predictable but it passes the time
Asdfghjkl. I enjoyed this SO much. An excruciating amount of MUCH.
Transported me right to Edenbrooke. Nothing better than a lovely romance with morals!! And growth!! And a gentleman :') I have squealed, screamed, clawed, laughed, giggled, shrieked, you name it. This one is deffo going on my shelf.
I loved Marianne and she truly deserved the best. I heavily disliked Cecily for the sole reason that I found her incredibly manipulative, selfish and arrogant, intentionally or unintentionally. Very self-centered. However, I do appreciate how she is partly redeemed in the end. Your siblings may have some bad qualities and sometimes not treat you right but it goes without saying that they care about you and want you to be happy.
And Philip. Oh, Philip. I love a good gentleman.

This isn't my usual genre - it's romance, rather than historical fiction. The plot was quite good, with a few unexpected things I didn't see coming. The pace was good too, I read the first quarter one day, took a week to read the next quarter, but read the last half in a night as I coudn't put it down. The characters were very well writter - the romantic lead, Phillip, was played by Aidan Turner in my mind, which enhanced this novel no end! Even minor characters were endearing and this the characters are definately the highlight of this novel. It taught me nothing of the times when it was set but reminded me to "be myself" in this lifetime and not judge yourself on others. A very nice, easy to read book after my last read and I will miss the characters for a little while now.
Just what a regency romance should be! Proper, with endearing characters and a bit of danger.
This was so very delightful! The banter was cute and I loved every second of it. I've been craving cute historical romances and this is exactly what I've been looking for
This romance was lighthearted and cute! Definitely a swoon worthy couple and novel. Some questionable jokes and moments, and not a ton of depth, but I still enjoyed this! That love letter though lol
Recommended for those who want an angsty, pure romance.
