RATING: 2.5 stars.

Sometimes to find a good book and suited well to me is not easy, because when a friend told me to read a book that she/he really love, it's not the same with the taste of my read. But not this one, because i thought after i read Edenbrooke, i really love it.. it suited well to my taste. This is really me ^^ *lol am i too hyper?

Thanks to my friend who recommended it... i cant take off my eyes of the book from the first pages till the end :)

I love Marianne who acted like a true lady, with her own thought. Even, her twins Cecily is more modest and elegant, and always made Marianne feel uncofident, because she always claimed everything first.
But for me Marianne is the one who Trully beautiful, she was loyal and oldfashioned, but she never wanted to cheat her future husband. She wanted marry to a gentleman who loved her the most and she love the most too.. or didnt marrrt at all.
Marianne a sweet lady definitely.

The hero named was Sir Phillip Whyndamm. He is arrogant for the first time he met Marianne, because most of the girls wanted to be him looking at his title and wealthy, so did cecily, who claimed Phillip first to be his wife and flirted with him all the time. But instead, Phillip love to see Marianne's laughing, her blushed when, he teased her. He loved her for her silliness.

Well, i love this book to the max !

This was a great book. In the beginning I felt a little like "I know where this is going" and I wasn't sure I would get really into it. The very end throws a little extra drama in there I could do without. Having said all that, the majority of it was a page turner and I found myself annoyed anytime someone bothered me and forced me to have to put the book down. When I finished, I wanted to go back and re-read a few passages. It brings out all sorts of romantic feelings and reminded me that every touch and eye contact with my own husband is fun and special.

I borrowed this from my friend after joking with her thinking that it couldn't really be that great. I was wrong. It was a really fun read. This would be a great book to add to your beach bag, carryon for a flight, or a rainy day when you don't want to do anything. I ignored my kids all day so I could finish. Once you start you'll have to finish.

I'm not sure if this deserves 5 stars. Maybe 4.5, but I'm rounding it up because I still feel all warm and fuzzy after finishing it. This book isn't perfect, but I found myself smiling so much when I was listening to it, I just fell in love with it.

I loved Phillip and Marianne and all of their teasing. I was on the verge of being annoyed with Marianne at times, but I could never hold onto it. Her naivety was understandable. At only 17, she had been completely sheltered her entire life. Her mother died a little over a year before and her father abruptly left in his grief, sending his twin daughters to stay with different relatives. Her twin sister embraced London and life in the city, but Marianne longed to go back to the country as she stayed in Bath with her curmudgeonly grandmother. There she learned absolutely nothing about men or the outside world, preferring to seek out nature instead of being a elegant young lady in search of a husband. So, for me, a lot of her confusion about Phillip and his intentions and the way she took absolutely everything everyone said at face value made sense. Not that it wasn't still frustrating, but it was believable.

Will definitely read this again someday!!!!

Audiobook review: From the start, that woman's voice annoyed me. She sounded like someone for whom English wasn't her first language, mimicking a British accent while speaking very slowly and deliberately in a fake falsetto. I loved the story so much that eventually it stopped grating on me, but it wasn't the best. Much preferred the voice of the woman who did the Blackmoore reading. Though I much preferred this book to Blackmoore, which was good, but a mega-downer.

Honestly, this has always been one of my favorite regency books! I have read it a few times. A fun simple quick read.

5/5

i read almost the entirety of this book on a train ride to a little town in northern germany. it's very likely that the scenery influenced or maybe enhanced how much I enjoyed this book, but it was so sweet nonetheless. I adored this

“... I could be myself and be loved deeply.”

This was such a lovely read that brought me such happiness this week. I smiled, laughed, and cried while reading this and had such an adventure with it! I loved the romance and the message of the story so much! 5 stars! And dare I say, a favorite too!!

Felt like I was reading another version of Pride and Prejudice (which I hated). I can't believe this is so highly rated, not sure why it was on my list, literally asked the librarian whether this was actually a book I requested.

Disappointing.
