The Shooters is the fourth book about Charley Castillo/Karl von und zu Gossinger by W.E.B. Griffin and I still feel hooked after reading this for the 4th or 5th time. Castillo is still trying to get to the bootom with who is behind the oil for food program when a DEA agent is kidnapped. They have to try and find him before it's to late but there is some problems along the way. Whe also get a little more background on the characters and some surprises. Since I am a big fan of this author I can strongly recommend his work.

Straightforward....now I know what someone means by "punchy prose". This book just basically says "Hey! Read me! Here's the beginning, here's the detail in the middle, and here's the end! Have a nice day." Not as good as the previous in this series, but Castillo is an interesting enough character to keep me reading the Presidential Agent novels.

Charley Castillo is back, this time he's charged with the rescue of a kidnapped DEA agent as well as trying to keep the lid on the situation in South America. Old friends are back and we make a few new ones. And Charley gets a shock when he meets with an old flame.

I simply love the Presidential Agent series, although I don't know how much longer Charley and his pals can avoid ticking off Ambassador Montvale one too many times. This series is filled with humor and action and ripped from the headlines stories.

If you've been reading my book reviews regularly, you already know how much I admire and love this author. This book hasn't changed my mind. I'm definitely eager for the next in the series, a few more books down the line.
