This book was propulsive from the very first chapter. It was never boring not once. HOWEVER
are you telling me after ALL THAT, we do not even get to know for sure, on page, what happened to the Prince? I wanted to watch him die. I almost want to see him again in another book just so I can see him suffer. And what about Suzuki's late wife? She was murdered but that had nothing to do with this story?? I did like the ミカン·レモン生き返りthough.

I found the movie on Netflix and decided to play it on whim, and it ended up becoming my new favorite movie. I was excited to find out it was a book and quickly bought a copy. The book is very different from the movie, such as The Prince is far darker and more unlikeable. I didn’t like his chapters very much but Nano and the fruit made up for it. I appreciate both as separate medias. I loved Lemon and Tangerine just as much as I did in the movie. Looking forward to trying out more of Isaka’s work!

DID NOT FINISH: 34%

I was excited to read this after thoroughly enjoying the movie, but it wasn't as gripping for me on the page as it was on screen.

Bullet Train balances crime, noir, comedy, and thriller that is deserving of the tags "dark" and "light hearted" and "tense" all at once. The main action all takes place on a Bullet Train filled with assassin's and professionals in the business of crime and murder. The switching narrators allows for fun shifts in perspective and time as difference characters bounce off each other and battle each in the confines of a train trip. There is some meditation and themes of darkness and philosophical discussions of murder and brutality and luck ... but the tension, discussions, and intensity are also balanced with repeated and hilarious discussions of Thomas the Tank Engine. Fun audio book for the gym. 4 stars.

Quite entertaining, I hadn't seen the movie because I'm not much into action films, but I tend to love thrillers. I liked the different POVs so you could see everyon'es motivations and styles, and I also enjoyed the diversity between all of the characters, with very distinct personalities. I did suspect a few twists, but overall I didn't want to put the book down 4/5

i LOVE the bullet train movie, and while the book has a bit of a different approach, it still holds the same energy, intensity, and amazing character development.
