I didn't enjoy this as much as Three Assassins, primarily because this seemed more focused on the action/crime elements than the philosophy of murder. I did enjoy the return of
Suzuki
and his section towards the end was probably my favorite part of the book, which was much more introspective than the rest of the plot. I did enjoy Lemon and Tangerine, but overall this felt more shallow than its predecessor.

i’ve seen such mixed reviews for this book and i just have to say I DO NOT GET IT!!! this book was so incredibly fun and action-packed, i have not read a book that had me this much on the edge of my seat in a while. if you are looking for a book that is just so much fun with a lot of action, super unique and funny characters, and an engaging plot, this is for you! i cannot stress enough how much i recommend this. i think the best part of this book had to be the characters. we’re following 5 assassins on this train and everything is simply going haywire. each character stands out in their own ways, and they all have a way of driving the plot. The Prince in particular, even though he infuriated me to my core, he was so interesting to read about! his personality was similar to Five from The Umbrella Academy, the young but wise one who is kind of a little shit. and the twins!!! they were incredible and hilarious. i can’t even choose a favorite character in this book. i was really in need of a fun and thrilling book after reading the first two books in the AGGGTM trilogy because they were really heavy, and this was just perfect. purely enjoyable. really recommend. i would say i’m excited for the movie if it wasn’t for the completely white-washed cast but nonetheless the story and the plot itself will make a great movie.

I have an interesting issue with this book. I watched the movie first and then read, but I am not sure which way is optimal. At it's simplest I think the book shines in dialogue and is a great foundation. I'm glad we got this witty and exhilarating book so that the movie can exist and take the aspects I felt were lacking in the book and improve them. Action was shorter and more contained in the book, this led to pacing issues for me. Pages 100-250 were pretty slow for me and I will probably only be watching the movie in the future. I think this book is a great read and shelf, but you'll certainly be left thinking about corruption, circumstance, connection, and citrus!

Una de esas pocas ocasiones en que la película es mejor que el libro
