Instantly became one of my favorite books. Chanel’s writing makes you feel like you’re not only a friend, but a sibling, and it leaves you dizzy with how to navigate as an onlooker to her trauma. Graciously vulnerable and joyfully honest.

This is a hard read. As a woman, as a mother to a girl, as a human. Extremely well written, and I have already ordered her (unrelated) children's book.

When a woman is assaulted, one of the first questions people ask is, Did you say no? This question assumes the answer was always yes, and that it is her job to revoke the agreement. To defuse the bomb she was given. But why are they allowed to touch us until we physically fight them off? Why is the door open until we have to slam it shut?

Super well written memoir. This was such a high profile case and seeing it from the media v.s reading her perspective and how it impacted her life really f*ked me up. I loved every bit of it.

I cried reading this book. Chanel is an amazing amazing writer. I will genuinely miss her words, her warmth and her voice on my daily journeys.
Her story is so heartbreaking and rage inducing. I saw myself and women I know all over the pages of her book. I close this book feeling heartbroken, angry, frustrated, exasperated, proud, fired-up, defeated and sad simultaneously. There is so much I want to say but it has all been said better and more succinctly by Chanel in this book. Always believe survivors. I stand with Chanel and all over victims of sexual and gendered violence.

This was so powerful. Listened to this on audiobook and it was even better because Chanel actually narrated it although(sorry Chanel Miller!) I did find her voice very monotonous so sometimes it would be difficult! I also found sme bits repetitive and would have been nice to have expanded more on the Swede heroes but perhaps ther may have been reasons for this.

Hearing about the whole process of a rape/sexual assault victim was just so harrowing and emotional and this book really hurt and made you feel like why are ther such evil people in the world who don't see or connect with others as humans?! Because thats what we all are and you wouldn't want yourself to be treated that way so why?!

I loved hearing how much support Chanel had as a lot of the time this may not be the case. It was also a very well written book!
