I love Nick and Emmy. I was rooting for them from the first page. I genuinely liked both characters.

I also loved seeing Dash and Draven from the Clifton Forge series. I already knew what to expect there since I read the other series first, but it was still nice to see them.

This was a sweet second chance romance with a lot of highly unlikely—but still interesting—drama mixed in. I feel like it would be better if there weren’t SO many suspense building elements back to back. Just like book one, there was a lot going on. Emmy has multiple break-ins, a half kidnapping, a stalker, a gun held to her head by a random man, and her best friend since college wants her dead and hires her stalker to kill her. That’s. A lot. However, just like the first book, I can overlook it all because I love Devney’s writing so much.

i just don’t understand where we went wrong with this one.

there was so much unnecessary drama and for what? there was no lead up to Steffie or whatever her name
is to become a villain? she just became one??

Trent is an absolute ass.

Emmiline (or however you spell it) doesn’t understand the concept of a nickname. Also, she had the marriage certificate this whole time? You couldn’t look at it. For someone who went to not one, but 2 prestigious universities, you are dumb. Dummy millionaire.

Nick….oh Nick. You claim you were in love with Emmy
this whole time yet the weight of you wedding ring you wore for all of 12 hours is more of a “come to Jesus” symbol than, oh idk, your marriage? it was your idea, pal.

the only respectable characters in this book are Colette and Alesso

Nick and Emmelina....love this series!

This is the second book in the Jamison valley series but can be read as a stand alone. This is Nick and Emmelina's story. No one knows how the know each other in Preston.. Nick makes sure his friends know the very abbreviated version and she wasn't at fault. They have both not forgotten about each other in their years apart and he's willing to fight and is thinks she need to end their story. This had lots of great heart felt moments, laugh out loud, make you tear up and even suspense at times. So glad I found this series. You don't have to read the first book but bit helps enhance all the other characters.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 Loved, would recommend to everyone, only a small issue

I love a Vegas accidental marriage and this book delivered all the iconic Vegas vibes but the next morning my heart fucking broke. Nick and Emmy had one memorable night that ended in an abandoned wedding ring, a one word note and 9 years of separation. Then when Emmy decides to change her life she runs into her long lost husband. Not only did Devney set up one series with this book but she set up two (Clifton Forge + Lark Cove).

Devney is the queen of second chance and she absolutely delivered on this one because Nick's only goal was to make it up to the love of his wife. We love it when a man recognises he is the problem but at times he was a little bit of OTT although I am stupid because I still swooned over him. Both Emmy and Nick had extremely complex family drama but Emmy's is by far the worst I had never read anything like that, my poor heart broke for my angel girl.

THE ENDING! absolutely blind sided me and Devney always keeps you hooked until the last minute.

Tropes: second chance, accidental marriage, one night stand
Triggers: emotionally abusive father, MC Club, attempted kidnapping, stalking

The Coppersmith Farmhouse: ⭐⭐
The Clover Chapel:⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
The Lucky Heart:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Outpost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Bitterroot Inn: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
