Underwhelming. This book reminded me a lot of Invisible Monsters, which I wasn't wild about either. Palahniuk is often over the top, but some of his novels are just more absurd than others, and this one falls into that category.
Not worth the hardcover price I paid for it, unfortunately.

This is one of those really odd books that you keep asking yourself “what did I just read?” But you can’t stop reading.

"The way to get a babe to act in a blue movie is you offer her a million dollars. The way to get a dude is you just have to ask him."
SUMMARY:
Porn star Cassie Wright wants to break the world record which includes sleeping with 600 different men in one adult film. Through this novel, readers meet men number 72, 137, and 600 and live in this closed proximity for the day of this film.
THOUGHTS: (spoilers!!)
So...this book is bad if anyone was wondering.
Man number 600 is an AWFUL PERSON. The scene where he was peeing in his first love and encouraging number 72 to sleep with Cassie.

Sorely disappointed. Either Palahniuk is writing differently, I'm getting older, or both. Regardless, Snuff is more in line with his more recent efforts - Diary, Rant, Haunted - than his earlier work. The writing was terse and intriguing enough to keep moving forward, as are the dozens of hilariously pun-y porn titles. But the surprises are tame, the situations are boring, and the ending is silly. I will keep my eyes out for his next book, but wearily.
