I didn't think I would like this book, I thought it was going to be overinflated from TikTok. However, it was gripping, exciting, relatable somehow, funny, and the twist(s) at the end have me SO excited to read the next book.
THE ONLY reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because I feel like the love is a bit forced at first. I understand and appreciate the end result but at the beginning, especially considering their background, eh. However, the rest of the book, especially the end was riveting. Small hints from the beginning scattered and not made a huge deal of that came back to matter huge at the end!? Great.

I rolled my eyes at the idea of even reading this book, but curiosity finally got the best of me, and I'm so glad it did. This is probably the best piece of fiction I have ever read. Something about the characters and intricate story really drew me in. I devoured it within a day, and I can't wait to pick up the second and third in the series.

I understand why non fantasy readers love it, it’s such an easy fantasy book. The world building was meh and i feel like there were plot holes. It felt like wattpad a lot of the time but i was entertained and a quick read AND it got me out of my reading slump so
The weird obsessive monologue from Xaden really killed the vibe at the end for me. But the plot twist ending helped make this more of like a 4.3 ⭐️
