I am new to the entire graphic novel scene, and so the leap into this graphic memoir was quite pleasant. The way that Bechdel presents her story is really a work of art. It is one of those reads that you will have to read over again just to start to grasp the many complex issues that are addressed within this book. Not a light-hearted, happy go lucky read, but deeply emotional, personal, and honest. I plan to read it again when I get the time.

I didn't read a lot of the books Alison mentioned, so my understanding of her reflections were limited but nonzero.
