All of the good things. All of the frustration. All, it got all. All <3.

“That prickly exterior of his has always challenged me to be better, but the real him attracts me beyond comprehension.” // “Tradition comes from something being so brilliant and such a good memory, that you try to recreate it every time that you can.” // “You drive me mad.” // “That just means it was never good sex. All good sex comes with a side order of inappropriate laughter.” // “He has your smile.” // “You wanted to let me know my place beyond all doubt.” // “It’s like there’s an invisible string connecting you and him.” // “I never knew that one person could make such a change in another.” …

My book of the month, November 2022.

This book was a ride. a long sometimes painful, sometimes funny, and at the end an almost sappy 360° turn on characters and events. So homey, so warm compared to the brutal toxic angst that was before. I'm giving it full marks because of all the feelings it evoked. I loved it.
Thoughts as reading:
I'm invested and can't put this book down...
It's one of those stories that wrecks you. I honestly feel like I'm going through the worst break up, the toxic feeling is off the charts. I love and hate it in equal parts but the masochist in me won't let me put it down.
*Opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine even in their soap scents

Book has two MMC’s with great chemistry and sarcastic banter. Enjoyed how their relationship developed. Good read.

3.5 stars
I’m not sure why more people aren’t mentioning how toxic Gabe was to Dylan? Like wth- yes you had a traumatic childhood etc and yes you need therapy!! BUT that doesn’t excuse you being a toxic manipulative asshole???! I’m kinda sad because I really enjoyed the love hate dynamic and the snark/banter but part of me just can’t get over how toxic Gabe was.

Dylan deserved better. Gabe should’ve grovelled more and Dylan shouldntve folded so soon. He was done dirty! Like what the actual f was that Valentine’s Day gift?! That was actually unhinged and disgusting and purely spiteful. Gabe KNEW Dylan had feelings for him and he chose the exact actions that would hurt him the most.

I don’t care how “”broken”” you are but personally I would not excuse that behaviour.

Super enjoyable read. I felt like the third act listed into a weird place a little bit got its footing back very quickly. Generally don’t like OM drama but it didn’t detract heavily from my enjoyment.
