I'm a sucker for novelizations anyway, so add in the James Bond movie that came out during the prime of my fandom and you've got a hit. It doesn't add much to the story, but still a good time.

Very uneven novelization of the movie.  With the understanding that writing a novel based on a movie with an iconic character (James Bond) puts a limit on the writer's creativity, there are sections of this book where more effort should have been expended to deliver a higher quality book.  Some chapters read as if the book had a tight deadline to meet so dialogue was simply lifted from the script and a minimal amount of narrative added to fill out the chapter.  The dialogue between characters was sometimes so stilted that I wondered if a copy editor was ever given the opportunity to read the book.  I found reading this book to be frustrating since some chapters did have the type of additional character development that cannot be found in the movie.  This book can be placed in the category of for James Bond fans only.

I'm a bit disappointed with this novelisation of my favourite of the Brosnan!Bond movies - it's terribly thin and doesn't really add much to the movie.
