This was such a good book. It was more than just a hockey romance. It really had good life lessons weaved within. Super well writren & so swoony!!

Rhode is such a great guy! He is learning from his younger mistakes & working on being a better version of himself every day. I liked that this man was as kind as much as he was confident. He wasn't portrayed as a cocky jock or grumpy or even as a playboy. He was honestly just a normal person with a high profile job. It was a different take on the hockey God MMC.

Nina was such a breath of fresh air. The fact that she suffered from anxiety wasn't used as a crutch or a personality trait. It wasn't used as an excuse for poor behavior. She knew about it and tried to avoid triggering situations at all costs. She tried to avoid confrontation when she was in the middle of an episode to avoid hurting people. Her personality is so pure. I absolutely adored this character.

The way that these two complimented each other was insane. It was such a positive dynamic. The way that Nina was the protector over Rhode, I swooned over HER every time. She's my first Book GF, that's for damn sure.

I loved this book.
It's been on my shelf for a while, and I don't know why I put off reading it, but I'm so glad I finally got to it. Amazing Story

This book was fun! It burned almost a little too slow for me but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Maybe a skoshe long… like I feel as though there could have been maybe a little less *stuff* and the message would have been the same. I loved the banter and the realness of the dialogue.

A great debut!

Thank you to Love Notes PR for this ARC!

I love a hockey romance, especially when it’s fake dating!

Nina and Rhode meet one night when he uses a rideshare app. An accident and a little white lie cause them to have to fake date for Rhode’s sponsorship. Rhode is 33, a cat daddy, and ready for marriage/babies. Nina is an art student, 22, and leaving for a pottery fellowship in a few months. They don’t think their lives align, but the attraction is off the charts.

I didn’t like how Nina’s sister treated her. I also think that the “she’s too young” thing went on too long. But overall a fun and steamy time!

Tropes:
Hockey romance
Fake dating
Age gap (11 years)
Anxiety representation
Cat Daddy MMC

I’ve never read a book that made me go through so many emotions😂 it’s not a bad thing whatsoever, there was just a lot of laughing then awing and then crying, definitely an interesting roller coaster. There were sad tears and then happy tears and then giggles. I love the whole let’s make the ex jealous and fake dating because if I were in her shoes definitely would have done the same thing😂 iykyk
I read this book because it came in my Probably Smut subscription box and I basically just knew it was a hockey romance which I love and it ended up being so much more than that.
I honestly didn’t think there was going to be any spice, just thought it was going to be a sweet hockey romance, boy was I WRONG🥵🤤
A great hockey romance with not too much hockey, she focused on the main female character, Nina, who was cute and nerdy and she had anxiety which was a new twist for me and you could tell how much research she did on what it’s actually like to deal with anxiety and what it feels like.
He saw it all and HE LOVED IT ALL😭😭 she fell for him eventually but, he fell so hard from the very beginning. I loved this duet and the personalities Meredith gave both of them because it seemed that they wouldn’t fit together but, they do, perfectly might I add!
I am so excited for book two to see happens next with this adorable couple and I’m hoping she keeps it going and maybe does all the guys stories!

I absolutely adored this book! I nearly read the whole thing in one day.

Cross stitching cat daddy to a wild cat Chicken. Are you kidding, how cute! But wait, Who will take care of Chicken when they’re not in town?

I love Nina, from her glasses to her tattoos, everything about her is just to sweet. She reminds me of me.

While Rhode is older than Nina, I never doubted for a second that they’d love each other. They quipped banter back and forth like it was a daily routine. If that doesn’t scream end game, I don’t know what does.

Fantastic work, I can’t stop recommending this book now that I’ve read it. I can’t wait for Cruz and Patty’s stories, but also homebound… so pumped!

Hockey guy whose whole personality is hockey and even relates almost everything he says to the game-- "she says in a voice steadier than a zamboni" -- gives up hockey to be with his one true love who he at one point gags and calls a teenager after finding out she's 22

He also doesn't understand a joke after lying about his profession when she says "if you're a plumber, I'm a neurosurgical resident" and thinks she's ACTUALLY a doctor
