Unpopular opinion clearly but I did not like this book. I went in blind which I do for almost every book, and I was intrigued in the beginning. But about a quarter of the way in it began to drag. And then it became less like a novel and more like I was reading a textbook or something. I felt like it was taking a long time to move the plot forward and found myself becoming less interested in it because of that. Maybe it’s just me but this book wasn’t it for me.

3.5 Stars. The authors clearly did a lot of research for this book, especially into beekeeping! But at times there was a little too much and it detracted from the story. I loved hearing what happened from both Olivia and Lily’s perspective. I was not personally a fan of how Lilys chapters were ordered, but I did like how this allowed the reader to be shocked at its revelations and see how Lily had grown. I liked all the different issues this book tackled and thought it was done delicately.

This book was intelligently written and the story kept me engaged all the way up until the end. I spent quite a few nights up late trying to finally get to the bottom of the mystery. Overall a fun easy read.
