Easy read which was nice but not a fan of the kitten nickname which ended up replacing her name for a large chunk of the book and the grand gesture at the end just gave me major second hand embarrassment. I did like how Watpad- like it was though
What a cute book. It’s really light and amusing, and it was very readable. The relationship between Katelyn and Jackson was quite fun and cute and I liked how instantly into each other they were from the very start. There was a lot here that made me smile, made me laugh, and it was just really entertaining.
The writing wasn’t perfect - some of the dialogue was a bit cringey and didn’t scan well and I found the nickname ‘Kitten’ a bit overused. I understood him using it when they were alone but it was a bit much that other characters started calling her ‘his Kitten’ - that just felt a bit weird.
But the book is what it is - it’s fun and a little bit silly, but it has a cute romance at the heart of it with good, decent chemistry between the two leads.
Content Notes: Hockey / sports, celebrity, instalust.

The hero’s ex makes an attempt to win him back. They’re photographed together in a way that makes it look like they’re a couple and it leads to a misunderstanding between the hero and heroine. When she goes to talk to him, the hero’s ex is in his apartment in a robe and wearing an engagement ring and tells the heroine they’re back together. It’s later clarified in the hero’s POV that this isn’t the case and that she let herself into the apartment with an old key. Nothing happens between the hero and his ex and he isn’t interested in her.Jackson (34) and Katelyn (31)

This was really cute, light, and fun. I wish things would’ve started happening between Jackson and Kitten, I mean, Katelyn a little quicker. You’re halfway through the book before there’s a kiss and some one-sided hand action.
There’s a lot of repetition in this book. We read a scene as it happens told from Jackson or Kaitlyn‘s point of view and then we have to read it again as she or he retells the exact same scene to a friend or family member.
I’m sure Lacy is a horrible person but I got real sick of everyone demeaning her because she had breast implants as if that were her only trait and they hate her for it.
Also, it bugged me that Katelyn apologized for not giving Jackson the benefit of the doubt, but she did do that and that’s when she went to his house and saw mostly naked Lacy there.
Only 3 spicy scenes. That made me very sad. .5🔥
I don’t think I’ll keep going with this series but SJ Tilly does have some amazing books.
It was okay I just couldn’t stand some of the side characters and how they took over the plot, for the first half of the book it seemed like the main characters had no time to even try to get to know each other but they were already exclusive ?? very much insta love
also why tf was everyone calling her kitten ?? weirdo behavior

dnf at 48% this was so incredibly boring bc of the insta love (basically together by the 20% mark)

After getting caught sneaking around a rich, attractive man’s basement library when avoiding her ex-boyfriend at a party, Katelyn assumes she won’t see Jackson again—after all, despite the chemistry she thought she felt brewing between them, he didn’t even ask for her number. So, it’s quite the surprise when a mysterious package appears on her doorstep the next day. Inside, she finds tickets to a professional hockey game: his game, where half of the 20,000 strong crowd is wearing his jersey. Kately thought she was a well-adjusted adult who was reasonably prepared for life, but after one date with Jackson Wilder, a viral video, and a cringeworthy “I didn’t know she was your mom” incident, she’s questioning everything she thought she knew. But Jackson’s fun, and kind, and intense in all the right ways, and she thinks she’s falling for him. She just doesn’t know if he’s falling for her, too, or if he’s as much of a player off the ice as on.
Sleet Kitten was such a fun read! As the first in a series, the story strikes a great balance between introducing the setting and a core cast of characters whilst also telling a solid, sweet romance. I was hooked for the beginning with FMC Katelyn’s and MMC Jackson’s meet-cute moment, and the chemistry only built from there. Katelyn’s and Jackson’s POVs were so much fun to read; there was quality banter between them and their friends, plenty of romantic tension, and the spice was glorious. Although the story is mostly lighthearted and humorous, the emotional finale in the last quarter made for a strong finish. I’ll be diving straight into book two!
3.75 stars
This book had a good mix of humor, hockey scenes and spicy scenes. I thought their relationship went kind of fast not quite insta love but it seemed that way from the first scene where they meet each other. I really enjoyed the hockey scenes with them and watching the FMC learn the sport and not make it confusing for the reader. This is one of those books that gives you the cutesy butterfly feelings and thats exactly what I was looking for. The end however really is what made it only 3.75 stars for me, in no world does a book need 3 epilogues.

Not a huge fan of the writing. It was weird getting into this. I didn't really love either character, but didn't hate them so I kept going. I started vibing with it more around the half-way mark. The ice skating date absolutely gave me ick I don't know why, but I thought that was so lame. So I know that every Alpha man has to growl, but I hated when Jackson did? I can't explain that.
Overall, I did end up enjoying it, but just enough so it's a 3 star.
