This book was recommended to me by a good friend so I really tried to give it a chance but my god it was so boring and embarrassing to read I couldn't do it. He calls her kitten the moment they meet and if I took a shot for every time the word kitten is used I'd have alcohol poisoning.

Saw this on booktok/bookstagram. I love the concept that the author brought to this book, but personally the writing and language is unbearable. It seems like a book that began on Wattpad written by a 10 year old that got published. I MAYBE got 2 chapters in and had to stop because of how bad it was. The plot line moved insanely fast with the MMC basically falling in love with the MFC in the first chapter. I also hated that he called her “his kitten” within the first 5 seconds of talking to her. He also got creepily obsessive with her after spending 5 minutes with her alone as they watched his favorite movie and she falls asleep. I just couldn’t handle the toxic and possessive behavior of the MMC and the “I’m different than other girls” vibe from the MFC. Overall I DNF’ed the book.

I don't understand the dislike for this book! Yes, Jackson used Kitten a lot, but I thought this book was funny, lighthearted, and had an extra background regarding insecurity for both Jackson and Katelyn!! I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
