Gordon Korman doesn't disappoint in the second book in the middle reader Masterminds series. Escaped from the sleepy town of Serenity, four intrepid friends must discover the meaning of their existence before it's too late.

Masterminds is a good readalike series for fans of Dan Gutman's The Genius Files.

THAT ENDING.

I didn't like it as much as the first one but the end was intriguing

Action packed all the way though!
adventurous funny lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Complicated
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Fast-paced and tighter than the first book in the series. The kids' voices feel very authentic and the ending left me wanting more.

I don't know what it is about this series, but I absolutely love them. A wonderful action book with the right amount of comedy, and exploration of the age old debate: nature vs. nurture. The audiobook is especially engaging as each of the kids have their own narrators.

EVEN BETTER THEN THE FIRST!!!!!! (And how often does that happen?!?) I don't know how I'm going to wait for the 3rd one. It's going to be a really tough year(ish. I can't find a publication date, so what if it's even longer???)

So the premise is that these clones of bad guys are actually good kids. Get over that, and you will enjoy this Elementary-age thriller.

I enjoyed book 2 even more than the first book. Great for middle school readers who are looking for adventure and HS/adults are who are looking for ethical questions to ponder along with the action.
