Tragedy, love, loss, and friendship. I couldn't put this one down. Though at times the personality of each girl was difficult to witness, the ending with Hannah making the leap to let go the love of her life was so palpably heartbreaking. The epilogue of Blue moving into a place that brought her happiness, Renee deciding to do therapy with her man and the note about change, although imperceptible is at work, and Maya who I was hoping would move to Montauk to be with Andy. But I liked her ending of working two jobs and maintaing her positivity in defiance of life's hardships. A rare trait indeed.

This book wrecked me. I thought this was going to be a fun light summer beach read. Instead it was the opposite. Beautifully written: pain, loss, joy, fear, laughter; all the emotions lingered into my heart it was as if I felt what each girl was feeling at every moment, it was captivating. There were moments found myself having to stop and digest over what I had read. It was just so overwhelming really almost haunting for me.

I was expecting something fun, nostalgic, and summery but instead got my heart torn out! Despite their flaws, I adored these girls and the book was riveting!

‪Oh wow. No one writes as beautifully as @kkletter does. I repeatedly went back & reread many lines (& also read them to coworkers) because EAST COAST GIRLS is gorgeous. & powerful, & heartbreaking & funny & so very compelling. (less)

Listened via Hoopla.

Seemed like it would be a good summer read. It definitely includes some emotionally heavy stuff (assault, attempted rape, murder) so head's up for that. It too me a while to get into it (and differentiate everyone).

This book was awful. Unrealistic. Each character was completely undeveloped and also terrible.
