A light read but engaging and fun. Regency era mystery with romance, humor, and lovably imperfect characters, including Jane Austen in a minor role.

4.5 stars - a really lovely romance for one of the long standing sidekicks of the series.

Nice and fun. Just what I needed since I'm about to pull my hair out with this whole selling-my-house mess that's going on. Turnip Fitzhugh gets a chance to be the hero for once, instead of the fop, although he's still Turnip and Arabella makes a nice heroine in the Letty sense (Letty's my favorite Willig heroine). Several characters from other Pink books make cameos - Mischief is set starting between Seduction of the Crimson Rose and Temptation of the Night Jasmine and ends with the Twelfth Night festivities at Girdings from Temptation of the Night Jasmine - so we meet up with the Vaughns, Pinchingdales, various characters' little sisters, Hen, Charlotte, the Dowager Duchess, and that pack of aristocratic idiots from Night Jasmine and Betrayal of the Blood Lily who all ought to be in jail.

Oh, and there's Jane Austen, too.

Another fun little romp through the Pink Carnation's England. There is no alternating between modern day London and historical England in this one, which I didn't mind. I enjoy Eloise's chapters, but I didn't miss them here. I found the story of Turnip and Arabella to be more than enough for this book. I genuinely liked both the main characters of this book for the entire book, which isn't always the case. And I found the evolution of Turnip to be very interesting and very believable.

This book is exactly what it seems to be...a fun, light, playful romp. Nothing too heavy or too serious, but a great diversion.

I'd forgotten how deliciously happy this series is! Turnip's POV was particularly delightful, and now I'm grinning like mad.

This was a very cute romance with a nice side adventure in espionage. Perfect for light reading. You'll close the book with a smile on your face.

A nice, light fluffy read but one that tried too hard for witty dialogue...especially in the first half of the book. The first half of the book was unconvincing to me and I found that I just kept wanting Turnip to be something more. The second half of the book was better. I enjoyed how it was the same story as told in a previous book from a different perspective. I missed the modern day romance in this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series

Audiobook version. Unfortunately I don’t remember when I read this. Perhaps in December 2018? I can’t recall.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

Because I adore Turnip Fitzhugh, don't you know. You also get an introduction to Sally and her school friends to complete the holiday romp. Absurdly well done.

The whole Pink Carnation series has started to wear me out, but this new find from the library restored my interest -- probably because it completely dropped the framework story of the modern romance found in the other books. "Mistletoe" takes a minor character from some of the other books -- the ridiculous, bumbling fop Reginald "Turnip" Fitzhugh -- and gives him the chance to prove his mettle as a knight in shining armor. Even his misunderstandings and daft babbling become somewhat more endearing as he finds a woman who can appreciate his true worth. OK, it's fluff, it's unbelievable romance, but it's a lovely little bonbon of a read for the season.
