I think I liked this even more than the 1st book. The 2nd year of Night Vale was magical, scary and wonderful.

Enjoyable collection, including the big battle against Strexcorp. I enjoy reading these at least as much as I've enjoyed listening to the show, particularly the intro-pieces to each episode.

I don't remember ever listening to the finale of this season (maybe because it's a live recording and I hate listening to audience reactions?) but man it was actually really good! It was honestly the funniest episode of the season, and I really enjoyed all the character actors! The format actually lends itself really well to multiple people, instead of just Cecil's voice.

"We must be the heroes we look for in others. We must no longer speak in code, but in action."

This one was just as good as the first, and I enjoyed this just as much as I did the first time around. Night Vale is one of those stories that suffer from 'just one more' syndrome, and can have you still up and reading at four in the morning, wondering just what these guys are doing to make this series so addictive.
This was the arc that got me hooked on the whole series, and it doesn't disappoint in text form. It's powerful, inspirational, hilarious, creepy and has secured itself as one of my favourites.

I have to give them credit also for making the Cassettes the most terrifying thing I have read, no matter how many times I try to figure it out. Congratulations.

I loved this volume even more than the first one I think. A long time fan of WTNV I loved revisiting this world. The writing is so surreal and deadpan and I love it. Revisiting Old Oak Doors made me fall in love with that episode all over again. Hiram McDaniels will also always have a special place in my heart. I hope they release Year Three soon.

Welcome to Night Vale was a podcast that I should have really liked, but despite multiple attempts to listen, I could never get into it. It checked all the boxes, but something never clicked. I may be the only one out there who doesn’t like the voice acting and the production style.

That’s where these script books come in handy. I enjoy reading the stories and experiencing the world without the theatre. The illustrations are a thing of their own - I’d enjoy a book of only weird art by Jessica Hayworth.

The commentaries are hit or miss. Sometimes I found them useful for understanding bits about the story or world, but sometimes the text could be a bit pretentious. I skipped about half of them.

I also never read the live show transcripts. One thing I did enjoy was pausing during each episode to pull up Spotify and listen to “the weather.”
