No pude terminar este libro. Quede en la pagina 350. No me gusto para nada, Layla es taaaan estresante y pelea por nada. Eso es todo lo que puedo decir.
This book was long! I am torn if I was Team Ollie or Team Jarrod it really depended on the scene! I thought Jarrod was taken a little too quickly and didn't feel like a connection was formed so Team Ollie.?.? On to the next book but....
Umm umm umm...I just kept reading and didn't stop because I was dying to know what Layla was going to do. Why? Because I didn't know what I would have done! Can you ask for a better story than that? One minute I was all about sweet Ollie that needed a real love and was so devoted to Layla. Then I would think Ollie was too good for Layla and her crazy immature shenanigans. Then, I would think NO! Not Ollie! She doesn't really love him, so set him free and let's head over to Jared's and have some hot sex and get some new jewelry!
I loved the friendships in this book. I was a little over some of the unrealistic attention, gifts and the limos visiting the dorm that no one found odd. Then again, it's Cali. I wanted Layla to have more of a college experience (did she take more than one class?). I wanted the damn miscommunication and flare ups to end. Ugh, I love a little angst and misunderstanding as much as the next reader, it leads to make up sex so it can't be all bad. But, every other freaking page!? However, it helped build the foundation for the 20% of the book poor little Layla couldn't make up her mind, I get that. I respect it and I forged through it, happy that I did.
Cannot wait until the next book!

ugh... way too long... and not the ending I wanted. controlling possessive men who lie are NOT hot and do not make for a happy ending... this story was a twilight love triangle and 50 shades of grey sex scenes on steroids... oy vey!
OMG!!! This book was DEFINITELY a roller coaster ride!! I had a hard time putting it down!!! It was a great read!!!
OMG This is why hate reading books about love triangles
So ok, the book was good, although a bit too long (thus the 4 stars).
But good lord! Love triangles break my heart into tiny pieces and seriously, this book even more so, because it basically dragged everything until the very end. In a book like this you can't help but to pick sides and although we get the main character's thoughts all the way through, and we can understand just how damn hard it must be to deal with something like this, I'm always asking myself 'why is she doing this or that' because for me, after some time it becomes kind of aggravating.
I don't know what else to say, except yay! it seems like she picked the guy I had sided with (thank the lord!).
Just one thing, I'm not liking the title of the sequel. I mean, "Torn Apart"? That's just asking for trouble. I'm not sure how much more my heart can take, but now I'm stuck with these characters, so fingers crossed.

Meet Layla, a shy inexperienced 19 year old woman. She is away from her father for the first time to get her college education. She is beautiful, ambitious and driven. Her focus is on school. She isn’t prepared for a relationship, let alone to fall in love.
Meet Ollie. He lives across the hall from Layla and her roommate. He is the typical band member and student. He instantly falls for Layla her first day on campus. Even though he worships the ground she walks on, he is willing to sit back and be in the friend zone.
Meet Jared. Rich. Handsome. Successful. Business extraordinaire. He has his eye on Layla, and nothing will stop him from having her no matter what.
Enter drama, drama, drama. Layla is in a tug-o-war with her heart, her head, the man who has her skin on fire, and her new best friend. She has never had someone like Jared. He is willing to give her the world. She is not ready to accept it, even though she loves him. Throw in Ollie and his love for her and his jealous hatred for Jared. He will not stand by and watch her make a life with someone other than him.
I liked and disliked this book. The writing style in some places was rushed and too wordy; not enough description and too many fast-paced facts. I think parts of the book seemed rushed; I know, the book is long, but still rushed at some points. I felt a lot of the emotions the characters felt. I was drawn into their drama, love, and loss.
I will say that I am team Jared. I am not particularly fond of him, but I cannot stand Ollie. He is a whiny, jealous cry baby.

I ended up skimming this one mostly. Whew. Now only was the grammar so horrible I cringed every page (she NEVER uses commas) but it was definitely just another version of Fifty shades, except none of the characters were likable. The main character that I just forgot her name was so whiny and I love Ollie, no Jared, no Ollie, no I will lock myself in the bathroom.....etc for sooooooo manyyyyyy pages that I just skimmed through to say I finished it.
I like the writing style and it was a nice book. Layla though is overly dramatic and sensitive. But the love triangle is exciting so it makes up for the confused heroine.
Rooting for Jared. Can't wait for the next book.

I had this book and the novella (Last Christmas) that follows it, for quite a while on my kindle without actually getting around to reading them. When I was offered an arc of the sequel Burning Up, I thought this was the perfect chance to read the previous releases, and so started the Holly's Hot Reads Marie Coulson Week, in which I read each book, back to back.
In Bound Together we have Layla, the girl who has just gone away to college where she meets hot rock star Ollie, and sexy dominant billionaire Jared. "How on earth do you choose between them?" you may ask. Well, Layla had the same problem and soon finds herself in the middle of a very messy love triangle.
Oh good Lord. Layla, Layla, Layla . . . She drove me mad. She made me laugh. I wanted to slap her. I wanted to hug her. I guess you could say it was a bit of a rocky ride with our heroine, and the majority of the time, my feelings for her changed depending on who she was with at that moment in time.
Like Jared. At the start, I loved him. He was sexy. Mysterious. Loaded. And did I mention sexy? But he acted way too old for his age. The way he spoke and the way he carried himself and lived his life was that of someone much older and with much more life experience than he had. I understand that he had been through a lot in his young age and had to grow up quickly, but let's not forget that he is just 22 years old. And as time went on, his relationship with Layla frustrated the heck out of me.
There's a very fine line between a dominant personality and an A-hole. Unfortunately, for me, he was leaping and bounding into the A-hole section. He was arrogant, rude, obsessive, and at times seemed just plain crazy! I was definitely not a fan of him as much as I tried, though at times, he was incredibly sweet and romantic. And super hot! I did mention the kink, right? Jared and Layla also has had major problems with trust and being deceitful. Which brings me to Ollie . . .
Holy-hottness. I. Am. In. Love. Honestly, what's not to love about this guy? He's practically a rock star, he's super hot, fun, caring, laid back . . . Basically, he's everything that Jared. isn't and so much more. When Layla was around him, she was completely different to how she was when she was with Jared. There was no pulling my hair out in frustration. It was just nice, clean fun. Well, it is Ollie we're talking about so it wasn't always clean but it was most definitely fun.
Bound Together is very Fifty Shades Of Grey. Now, when I say that, I don't mean it just because Jared is dominant and kinky. I mean that because a lot of stuff that happens in FSOG, also happens in Bound Together. I kept hoping that it would stray from the Fifty storyline and shine on it's own, but for me, it just didn't. It was all too similar.
Now, as I've pointed out, this is a love triangle. Layla goes back and forth between these guys like a yoyo because she can't decide which one she wants more and it creates a LOT of unnecessary heartache. If I was one of the guys I would have just told her to do one as she was too much trouble. But of course, in book world, that wouldn't happen for our leading lady, and as much at it both pained me and filled me with nervous excitement, we don't find out who she chooses until the very end. And I mean, the VERY last words. I kept trying to guess who she would pick, and at one point I was convinced I had cracked it. But no.
My feelings with this book came very mixed. While I loved some parts, I really didn't like others. In my honest opinion, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more had Jared been toned down a bit. He needs to act more like a young man in love and less like . . . well, Jared. The ending was always going to be either love or hate for me, but if you want to know which it was, you will just have read the book for yourselves. I'm sure you can guess who I want for her HEA.
