Although nothing Eisner does is bad, this short reflection on the early comics industry isn't nearly as compelling as Eisner's other works. Perhaps it's simply that this one is so very short that it doesn't really have time to develop greater narrative complexity, but aside from the stunning art and usual humor, I found this quaint but not very profound.

Well, I didn't like it as much as the previous ones, but it's ok. We're once again in New York, struggling to make a living and fullfill one's dream at the same time. It's less emotional and more business-like, that's all.

Another one from [b:Life, in Pictures|1105445|Life, in Pictures|Will Eisner|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1347471884l/1105445._SX50_.jpg|1092377]. It was cool to see something on the early comics world. It would have been better if it was less fictionalized, but the annotations helped. Something longer would have been better and with more art. 3.5 of 5.

Worth it alone for the caricature of Jack Kirby as a tiny little smartass who's always ready to kick your ass and loyal to his friends to a fault.

An autobiographical account of himself as well as other artists during the initial period of struggle. I liked this work. Although, I do wish it was a bit longer and a bit more detailed....
