Well, that was a rather abrupt ending. I was expecting one more chapter at the very least. Not an epilogue, just one more chapter... It almost felt as if the book ended right in the middle of the action, but I suppose it didn't. Guess it's on to the next one! :)

According to my Kindle, I've read this before, but I have absolutely no memory of it. At all. Not one moment rang a bell.

The romance felt rather secondary to the overarching plot. We spent a lot of time with other characters, not all of which I enjoyed. Mac was unbelievably annoying to read. That being said, I do like the conspiracy plotline so far.

Marcus “Cosky” Simcosky was injured during the events of the previous book and the diagnosis isn't good. Doctors tell him that he'll be lucky to be able to walk, will definitely have a limp and will never rejoin his SEAL team. Desperate, he's even willing to try something he doesn't believe in, Kait Winchester's healing gift.

Kait is his friend's sister and off limits, no matter the intense chemistry between them and the years he's wanted her. During the healing session, things become heated between them and take a turn neither expected.

To his surprise, the healing also seems to have made a difference and he'll need to get in shape quickly, since their enemies are acting against their team and they have no one to rely on but each other.

Fast paced with a very well suited couple that has its own share of obstacles to overcome, including Cosky's determination to protect any woman from the worry and possible grief of a SEAL wife.

Next comes novella [b:Bound by Seduction|24352358|Bound by Seduction (Red-Hot SEALs, #2.5; Bound By, #1)|Trish McCallan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1421621968s/24352358.jpg|43933890] and Kait's brother Aiden's story.

This series contains all of the elements that I like in romantic suspense; a little of the paranormal, likeable leads, and a military connection. I loved this book. It held my interest all the way through with lots of action and romance. I can't wait for the next Red-Hot SEALs novel. My only complaint is that they don't come out fast enough.

WOW WOW WOW this book was so amazing! I found the series of course by accident and wasn't sure how the second one would be but Forged in Ash was every bit as great as the first book. The author does a great job of making you invest in all the characters not just the main ones. She also brings love, heat, mystery, and action to her story. I became completely enthralled and can not wait for the next book in the fall of this year! She left the door so open on who the next "main" character will be.

This book was so much better than the first (even though that one wasn't bad either)!!
I absolutely adored Kait and Cosky and Wolf is a fascinating and mysterious addition to the cast of characters.  The plot arc is continued in this book, so you should read Forged in Fire before reading Forged in Ash. This one, to me, was more emotional and at times gut-wrenching than the previous one. I don't want to spoil anything, so I will just say, there were a couple of twists I did not anticipate!!! The book has a HEA, though, and the story arc continues to the next book.

Considerably better than the first book. I thought the characters were better and the plot line was more solid and I'm looking forward to seeing how the underlying story progresses.

This series is entertaining, however if these were real SEALS the fact that they can't seem to focus at all when women are around them would certainly see them very quickly dead! Fun to read though and I'm sure I'll read whatever comes next!
