Cute. Fun. Read it one morning and it put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. Will read MGs until I'm in the grave, mark my words.

Just reread this for my reading challenge as this was my favorite series when I was in 6th grade. I really loved Anastasia and her family. I also like that Anastasia has a fairly ordinary life that Lowry manages to pull magical moments from. Still a great story highly recommend for young readers.

Could there be a more perfect book? I just reread this over lunch and laughed for almost the entire hour. Tears in my eyes. I still feel giddy from the whole thing.

The '70s... what a marvelous time for children's and YA lit!

I read this series a lot as a young reader and really enjoyed the stories but I never remember this series as being a top favorite. However, during my reread I realized that this book is funny (in a way a kid might not get, lots of little goofs for the adult reader) and a perfect slice of life read that I appreciate a lot more now. I'm so glad this book holds up all these years later and that it's as enjoyable for 10 year old me as it is for almost 30 year old me.

"Anastasia's tenth year has some good things, like falling in love and really getting to know her grandmother, and some bad things, like finding out about an impending baby brother." (From Amazing)

I enjoyed this book and series as a kid. They are like Judy Blume and Paula Danziger.

I have no idea why nobody ever put this book into my hands when I was a kid!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, how I missed out. Loved it. Laughed, cried. Made me miss my dear old dad so very much.
