It would be a 4 but the sibling thing almost made me put the book down

This was a good follow up to the first in the series, lots of action and fast pacing.
Jace and Clary can’t actually be related right? Please for the love of god it better be false because there are lots of suspicious hints that lead me to believe that they aren’t and the author wouldn’t do this to us right? RIGHT?!?!? Please let me be right. The little twists with Simon being presumed truly dead and then him “living” were highlights for me. The only part that annoyed me was that it was way too easy for them to learn Valentine’s plan - Magnus just happens to know exactly what his endgame is and it was pretty anticlimactic.

4.5. So much better than the first book! I Think i liked it more because i didn't know what was going to happen. But i also really liked that it was so fast-paced and clary didn't annoy me that much in this book.

2.5 ⭐️ this one put me in a reading slump. Also the incest plot is unsettling.

City of Ashes takes you on an amazing journey after reading City of Bones you have to read it. It continues to amaze me how into these books i am i never thought a book like this could become so addictive. Gonna read the next one City of Glass.

Honestly, I hate this so much. I just want the series to be over because I have the books as a physical TBR on my shelf, as I said before, I will say it again this is Fantasia written by white people for white people that name their children, Kayleigh and Leyaghna
