Molly Bigelow isn't the average 8th grade girl. She goes to a gifted student school in New York, and spends way too much time at the morgue. Suddenly, Molly's world changes completely when she befriends a group of Omegas, who are zombie hunters. They ask Molly to join and pretty soon, Molly is fighting zombies all over the city.

Love James Ponti. I prefer City Spies, but the man knows how to write a kids book!

This is a lot of fun! It's really difficult to write a tween's "voice" well without getting annoying or grating quickly, but Molly's personality is great and the way we're in her head from a first-person narrator is really easy to get swept along with. There's a bit too much "not-like-other-girls-I'm-not-cool-like-other-girls-I'm-a-nerd"-ing for my taste, BUT it's a forgivable amount for middle-grade, honestly. The way the "Zombie world" is revealed is super engaging.

I would have been OBSESSED with this as a middle-schooler, and even as an adult I really recommend this for anyone who wants a unique, sometimes-silly, high-energy adventure!

A fairly silly book that my nine- and twelve-year-old children enjoyed far more than this adult reader. The book involves various types of zombie/undead inhabiting New York City and a group of people who work to make sure that the zombies don't interfere too much with the happenings in town. I'm hoping my kids have forgotten about this series and want to read something else.

I really enjoyed this book! I literally read it in about 6 hours and could not put it down. I really like Ponti's writing style and can't wait to read the second one! He can't drop a bomb on us about her mother like that and just end it!!!
