This is a quick one. Reads like a middle grade adventure/ comedy with a bit of horror... ya know, cuz zombies. Severed limbs, but no blood. It’s classic my recently deceased mother was a member of an elite monster hunting secret society stuff. Worth the read for sure. You know exactly what cliff hanger it’s gonna end with. But not to worry, books two and three are out and ready for you!

I really like the concept and storyline as well as the characters, but the writing style was choppy and slightly scattered which hurt the flow. I still enjoyed the book, and want to find out what happens next so I will most likely be picking up the next book in the series.

What an ending!!! Let me tell you right now, people who are reading this review, if you don't want to be left waiting to know what happens next, have the next book with you. Now I'm gonna sit around making weird noises until my parent finally take me to the library to get the next book. This one was SO good! And the names of the chapters? Totally the best!

Molly isn't the most normal girl in the world, her idea of fun is a trip to the morgue. But that's still plenty normal when you compare it to her life after she's attacked on the subway...by a zombie. Now Molly is part of a top secret society of zombie hunters and she's learning new things everyday. But one thing she needs to keep in mind all the time is this: her life is at a major risk.

I liked how the author started with a story and then the majority of the book was everything before that leading up to that point. It left the reader in suspense, wanting to know how the author made it from point a to point b. It was a good book, and I can tell I'll be reading more from this author.

Until next time! -Lenni

Fun, light, zombie action novel. Cute, smart main characters - I'd want to be friends with them. Good twists along the way and likelihood of at least a sequel, probably a trilogy or series.

Recommend to younger readers who want action or zombie books. Nothing too challenging or inappropriate, and would probably not hold the interest of true zombie fans (not for Walking Dead crowd).

Molly Bigelow has joined a group called the Omegas whose job it is to protect and police the zombie population that only exists in Manhattan due to the concentration there of schist that gives them their strength. Molly discovers that not only was her mother an Omega, but the girl that she works with at the morgue is one as well. Molly is a natural and finishes her training quickly, but in doing so, she also does not gain the knowledge she needs to become more careful and immediately breaks some of the groups' most sacred rules, but Molly is determined to find out why she and her mother were targeted.

Dead City is a faced paced, action packed story that doesn't let up until the big twist at the very end of the book. There is some character development, however there could have been more, but that is the only complaint I have about this book. It was filled with fun and adventure enough to encourage even the most reluctant middle grade readers. Overall, Dead City is an enjoyable beginning to this unique trilogy.
