I really enjoyed this book for the building of the characters. Fortuna is hardworking and strong, unwilling to bend to anyone’s will. Collith is dark and brooding, a mysterious fae who is keeping secrets from the main character. The author paints Fortuna as a great female lead and I really liked her as a character.

The 2 star rating comes from the plot. I just couldn’t follow it too well and some of the story telling was jumbled up. In the end, I was slightly confused by some of the plot points and what Fortuna was actually doing. Therefore, I enjoyed it as a quick fix of fantasy but unsure if I will carry on the series!

Overall, a good book with great main characters if you’re interested in fantasy books.

I felt nothing reading this book. Everything was so rushed and random. No foreshadowing.

Things just happen and they are easy. So so so easy ALWAYS.

The main character had to basically do ACOTAR’s trails and these trails are said to be so hard no one ever passes them and everyone dies. But the main character barely even tried during all of them and easily passed.
One of the trails is literally finding a door…

There was no tension ever in the entire book.

But I guess I’ll read the second

has its fair share of plot holes and eye roll moments, but it's also the most fun I've had reading in a long, long while

Nightmares, Faeries, Monsters, Wolves, and more. It was different from most fantasy I’ve read. I never knew what was going to happen. Some things were similar to ACOTAR but not at the same time. Its darker and tough subjects.

Fortuna Sworn, our like able main character, can’t trust anyone, loves her brother, and struggles with right and wrong. The ending leaves you wanting more.

I had a hard time connecting with the characters and even more so following the plot. Very easy to zone out of, unfortunately.
