Absolutely too much. Only Skimmed the book after the first half.
I adore this series and read AND listened to some of the episodes multiple times.
But this one’s too much.
I liked the MCs just fine, but too me it seemed that everything the series is about was multiplied here.
Too much pain in Kai’s life, too much suspense. Too much destiny and no questions asked. Oh, and of course: a child, because you need one to be happy.
It felt disconnected.
I appreciated the trigger warning at one of the chapters and skipped this one.

This was sooooo good. I wasn’t expecting to like Kai and Nera’s story but I got sucked in pretty quickly!
Nera and Kai's story was full in intrigue, danger, romance, and survival. I really enjoyed reading their story and can't wait to see what else Neva Altaj has up her sleeve for more stories involving this network of people that she has created!

The reason I’m deducting half a point is because the event in chapter 30 was revealed in the prologue, driving me insane with curiosity for 300 pages! I hate getting spoiled by the prologue and absolutely cannot stand jumping from a future scene back to the past. BUT aside from that—IT WAS PERFECT!!!!
If you dont like it too, I highly recommend skipping prologue and only reading it when you reach chapter 30.

boring as SHIT. literally everything felt so dreadful and so so so bleak. i’ve never thought id ever say this but even rina kent’s main characters were more interesting than this. also literally HOWNIS SHE PREGNANT WHEN DID THAT EVEN HAPPENNNNNNN
