Darkest Sins

4/5. This is more entertaining than some of the other books in the series. The male lead is a borderline stalker who becomes infatuated with the FMC right after they first meet, and he ends up intensely watching her everywhere. At some point, she starts to notice him, accepts it, and even seems to enjoy the attention. I liked that the story flows without the usual stalker/predator vibe—he’s actually kind of a sweet, albeit creepy, character. Nera, the heroine, even encourages his stalking, which is unique. I suppose there really is a lid for every pot!

However, the ending was a bit disappointing. There wasn’t much of a climax or build-up; it just wraps up with everyone happy and rainbows everywhere, which took away a bit of the excitement for me. Overall, still a good read, but the ending loses a point.

Beautiful representation of disabilities in this entire series. Great blend of dark themes and comedic relief. Especially appreciative of the authors decision to add a trigger warning at the start of a chapter and ensured the read not key details would be missed if the reader would like to skip.

SPOILERS. Damn I fucking love Kai! He was so obsessed with Neva and the fact he’d cut himself so she could patch him up ugh. Then when he was the one to shoot her dad ugh I was shocked!!! Like my poor babies. And her being pregnant ugh. Don’t love that trope but I feel like it was done well and did not interfere with the story. I even loved Neva and how strong she was through it all.

Kai and Nera's story was one of the best plots of this series. The angst, the slow burn, it was all worth it. The only thing making me go feral tho? WE'RE GETTING A NEW SERIES??!! And that too of the second generation! Sign me the fuck up, ma'am!
