This series.. is my fave mafia series of all time, and I always think I wont love another couple more..then Neva out does herself in the next book.

The pain this couple lives through . Many would see Kai as a cold blooded killer. But he was trained to live this life, one of a killer. I knew he had to have known Sergio who was my fave till this book. That they came from the same secret society army.
Nera was strong independent woman, training to be a vet assistant. She saves his life, after an almost fatal gunshot, and he cannot stay away. He slices his own arm to go see her to stitch him up.
It is a slow burn. He watches her from a far, and leaves gifts like the scarf to replace the one she used to wrap a wound. He left it on her door knob . He brought her herbs and carrots when he found how much she loved plants, but was alergic to pollen.
Nera was strong, the last third of the book she became a woman to be feared.
I loved it and never want this series to end
