There is nothing worse than feeling ill, as Bear soon comes to learn. Thankfully, he has wonderful friends who want to help with many a remedy. Still, Bear remained sick throughout most of the book, at least until he was able to rest. When he woke and felt much better, he saw that his fellow nursemaids had come down with something, allowing Bear to offer his own form of TLC. Neo liked the story and read it alongside me. I was a tad worried when he sneezed repeatedly through the latter portion of the book, but that might be related to the fact that I recently finished a massive tome that had a 'plague' storyline.

I’ve decided that I will like just about anything that Karma Wilson pens. The smooth rhythm that makes for a good read aloud, the repetitive phrases for audience participation, and the human-like feel to her animal characters…it’s all just awesome. This particular book celebrates friendship, and the idea that one kind turn deserves another. Preschooler was resistant to reading this one at first (see above comment about swaying opinion), but once she decided to give it a try, we’ve read it every night and even with Grandma and naptime one day. So this one is a perfect trifecta: Mom approved, Kid approved, and Grandma approved.

A great tale for sick kiddos. The toddlers at storytime mostly liked this one, but it got to be a little long towards the end.
