3.5! this was really cute it felt a lot like gilmore girls, esp with the relationship between josie and her mom, her mom and her grandma, and josie and her grandma. the family relationships were very similar and very cute and it was just a fun read

Já příběhy této autorky miluju, skvělé pro mě byly dva předchozí, takže i tento mě nezklamal a padl mi do noty. Autorka má svůj specifický styl, jakým píše, a podle kterého už ji poznám. Pokud je mám porovnat mezi sebou, tak tenhle je za mě z nich asi nejslabší, ale pořád je luxusní. Důvodem je pro mě ten konec, který byl na mě moc snadno vyřešený. Babičce ,která se promění během jedné noci z uschlé staré větve na uvědomnělou a milující, jsem to úplně neuvěřila. Jinak zase obdivuji to, že se to čte samo, že to baví a má to zajímavou zápletku. Příběh nijak nekolísá, prostě furt odsýpá stejně, stejně dobře. Líbí se mi také změna, že se tu mnohem více řeší budování vzniklého vztahu než pouhé navazování. Letní prostředí už k těmto knihám pro mě taky neodmyslitelně patří. I přesto, že postava Luckyho může být trochu klišoidní, tak jsem si ho oblíbila (takových týpků prostě není nikdy dost!). A vypíchnout musím i rodinné problémy, sice opět postaveno na nekomunikaci, jenže tahle autorka si to umí dobře napsat a obhájit. Takže, jo proč ne! No prostě, nemůžu se dočkat další její knihy!

3.5 stars. Cute with an excellent MLD and a naïve protagonist who drove me a little nuts sometimes but I have to remember that she's only 17. Quaint setting and easy to dive into like most Jenn Bennett reads!

This author! I loved her previous books Alex, Approximately and Serious Moonlight. Both books have a great sense of place set in North Coastal California and Seattle, respectively.
This book was set in Rhode Island somewhere on its coastline. It really had a great sense of place of an old New England town with its sense of history.
Normally I’m a West Coast, Best Coast kind of person, but I’d totally visit this kind of town!
I listened to the audiobook. I seriously tried to finish the book in one day. But I eventually had to sleep. I became too invested in the story to do much of anything else. The author spoke very quickly so I had to listen at normal speed instead of sped up.
I used this book for the Extreme Reader challenge category of Bildungsroman. Yes, I had to look up what it is.

Hledala jsem nějakou oddechovku a tahle kniha na mě vyskočila hned několikrát, v jednom dni. A tak jsem si řekla, proč ne. Od autorky jsem už před delší dobou jednu knihu četla a zhruba jsem tušila, do čeho jdu. No, rozhodně nejsem zklamaná a to i přes to, že můj vztah k Young Adult Contemporary je poměrně opatrný. Příběh se mi četl dobře, byl sladký, myšlenkou "rodinného prokletí" zajímavý a neměl žádná vyloženě hluchá místa. Přes to, že nejsem cílovka, docela jsem si nad ním odpočinula a vyčistila hlavu. I když si s klidem přiznám, že kdybych měla přečíst pět takových knih po sobě, docela z toho šílím. Takhle to ale bylo, docela fajn zpestření.

Jenn Bennett can do no wrong. Her books always put a smile on my face. Josie was raised by her single mother pretty much always on the move. They decide to move back to their hometown to help run the family bookstore. Josie already knows it's only for a short time until her mom wants to pick up and move again. What Joise wasn’t expecting was running into Lucky aka her former best friend and Lucky makes it completely clear he wants nothing to do with her. This book is full of family drama, friendship, and love. It's definitely a nice happy read.

A cute little romance, although I may be getting too old to read about high school students. The book could have been shortened by a few chapters and not missed anything.

This is a great story about a swoony romance between childhood best friends as well as a heartwarming mother-daughter relationship that comes to life after harmful secrets are discovered. An excellent read and a great reminder as to why I should read more books by this author.
