I struggled with the organization of this book, but I loved Steinem's stories from the road. Without planning it, the books I've read lately have stressed the importance of stories in our lives. Steinem's book fits right in, showing how important sharing our stories and listening to each other is to our efforts to make this world a better place.

Some interesting thoughts though the writing felt disjointed at times. Steinem is at her best when writing about the personal rather than the universal.

Although we lived very different lives, I couldn't help but identify with moments of her past, present, and future. I couldn't help but feel connections and understanding from all her experiences she wrote about. I respect the memories. I respect the ideals. I respect our differences in opinion as I continued reading through. I respect the fact that this book allowed me to let in new perspectives and ways of thinking towards nearly every aspect of my life. My Life On The Road is a book for many and for many forms of conversations.

Gloria Steinem has had a very interesting life, which I enjoyed learning about. This book seemed disorganized at times, but I still enjoyed all of the stories within it. Her story about being at the March on Washington, where MLK gave his "I Have a Dream" speech was really cool. I like that Steinem is very conscious of all oppressed groups; she is not a "white feminist" even though she's a white woman. It's apparent that she cares about everyone who is discriminated against.

I really enjoyed this. It is just as you would expect, an anthology of her stories of her life on the road, and it is fascinating. There are tons of take home nuggets in here and it really made me start to feel a passion for the women's movement and what it means to be a feminist in this day and age once again. It is easy to stop caring when things seem difficult or overwhelming. This book brought a bit of that passion back into my life. I am so impressed with Gloria and her ability to seek knowledge from all different kinds of people and places throughout her life. She is definitely a global woman. Highly recommend.

I won the book via a Goodreads Giveaway and was very excited when the book arrived in the mail. I loved the book and finished reading it within a few days. I knew nothing about Gloria's upbringing so reading that really provided a sense of where she came from and how that propelled her to be the person she would become.

Her personal stories intertwined with history/herstory made you feel like you were in the midst of everything. Gloria is truly inspirational, as well as many of the women and men she introduces us to.
