One Piece is back!! This is the first volume in multiple arcs where I came close to crying. The resolution of the Bonney and Kuma arc struck the right balance of being crushingly sad and satisfying. The designs of the Five Elders are my favorite worldbuilding we've seen from the story in a while. This arc is hitting all the right beats and feeling scarily relevant to our current world. While I still agree with some of my earlier criticism about the story losing focus on its primary characters, that focus shift works better when we follow characters that I care about.
