What in the actual hell did I just read?

I’ve never read monster porn. I went into it with little expectations to just laugh and have a good time. This was the strangest layout for a book I’ve ever encountered. The main story was so short and followed by a half story that had NOTHING to do with the first which didn’t even resolve itself then that was followed by a series of fade to black story IDEAS that were more like story synopses than anything else and then a list of Dino Love Tips. I don’t know how to rate or process this.

This initial story (you know the one on the cover of the book) moved fast and it was hot and heavy and confusing as hell. How a one armed virgin knows how to give an upside down blow job while her Dino mate is in full sprint mode I’ll never know. I couldn’t pull that off with 2 arms and farmer Fran did it with one so maybe this is a sign from the universe that I should work out…or at the very least rethink my life choices.

I read this and suffered so my friends didn’t have to. Well written though.

Considering how this is romantic trash, it’s actually pretty good. It has a plot and a story and moves quickly. I enjoyed most of it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Lola Faust for the ARC!

- I haven’t read much in this genre, and I don’t think it’s for me. It was so absurd, but in a way that really took me out of the story.
- in hindsight, I should’ve not been as surprised that a dinosaur book would be a little gory, but that was a very strange touch.
- this was also the most insta love of insta lives I’ve ever read. It felt like I was reading an abridged version of a book where they removed a chunk of introductory info. The book starts out right in the middle of the conflict.
- for people who like this genre, you may really like it! For people looking for an intro into this genre, definitely read reviews first.

"Could she die, she wanted to know, from too much pleasure? She hadn’t believed it was possible."

This would have to be the most ridiculously hilarious book I have ever been asked to read. Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer was actually a small series of reads including the title read and Lord Bartholomew's Ankylosaur Love By Ambrosia Penance.

In WHAS we meet the girl who is beautiful, but doesn't know she's beautiful - Tanis. She has always worked hard on her fathers farm, but has always dreamed of seeing the dinosaurs.
Now they have been reanimated from DNA found in a rock and equipped with telepathic sensors to communicate. By chance, Big Al comes through and decides Tanis is his mate - sweeping her off into the sunset. After a stretch of lovemaking, he eats her arm and takes her to a dinosaur/human love commune-like place, only to run off with another big breasted lass the second they get there.

Pretty douchey if you ask me.

After Lord Bartholomew's tiny story that ends in a fade to black, we then get some sexcerpts from other books, some special dino relationship tips and a bunch of other things to prepare you. You know, just in case you ever come across your dinosaur mate in the real world.
